USA Today attributes your success, in part, to your use of Twitter. I can write these letters everyday because I can so easily access information about what you are doing and find out about the people you are seeing. Speaking of which, I couldn't find out much about your visit with Kuwait’s Emir Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmed today beyond the fact that he's 89-years old, and you are both preparing for the GGC Summit, whatever that is.

Have you heard of the Trump Slump? That's the cute name that the travel industry has adopted to explain why the US has not kept its share of the international travel market since you came to office. Apparently, we used to have 12.9% of the market and now we have 11.7% and that's cost us 100,000 jobs.

I was sorry that you started your day tweeting an attack on AFL-CIO leader, Richard Trumka. Have you ever noticed that you, two, have a lot in common? Not only do you both have "Trum" in your names, you both love coal miners, making inflammatory comments and being dramatic.

Happy Labor Day! This morning I checked into what workers had to say about their employer, ship building company VT Halter, that just completed a $5.4 million contract to make some vessels for the Coast Guard. These reviews, from inDeed, a job search website, are strangely moving.

How was Charlotte? I was sorry to hear that you would not be "entertaining any compromises" with Canada on the NAFTA treaty. I know that you need to convince your base that you are the dominator, but no one is going to want to negotiate with the USA if there are no compromises. As you said yourself, "it's insulting."

I'm disturbed today because the front page of the NYT has a story about some protests in Chemnitz Germany where neo-Nazis are running "rampant" in the streets chasing down immigrants and chanting, "We are the people." Your rhetoric in Evansville last night about "the really bad people that were allowed into this country under President Obama" normalizes angry sentiments about immigrants and can lead to the kind of thing we're seeing in Chemintz.

It's also too bad you're attacking Senator Joe Donnelly. He doesn't attack you. According to the Daily Beast, he has supported many of your policies, and sports a bumper sticker that says, "Caution, I drive in the middle of the road."

The Presidential Site Summit looks like a big deal! It's great that Melania got involved by planting a clone from the "Eisenhower Oak" on the South grounds, and you, two, will be hosting the whole group at the WH. Wish I could join you. Why don't you head over to the Hilton to join some of their sessions? I would love to go to the "Civics Education and Presidential Sites" session this afternoon which Cokie Roberts will be moderating.

Did you two talk about the Kipeto Wind Energy project? That's quite the global collaboration. The USA is loaning some money so that the China Machinery Engineering Corporation can put up 60 giant GE wind turbines. As much as we'd like to keep away from China, it seems to be impossible.

First Uhuru Kenyatta may bring up the Bible and point out to you that he is left-handed. Some people of Kenya are impressed that their president shares this trait with King David from the Bible. They were even more impressed when he visited Nyeri, a draught-stricken region. The citizens asked him to pray for rain, and shortly after he did so, a downpour began.

I really didn't pay much attention to McCain until recently so I can't say I have been a fan for long. He won me over when I heard about a moment in Oct, 2008 in Lakeville, MN, when a woman noted that she couldn't trust Obama because he was an Arab. John called him a "decent family man" and refused to talk trash about him. According to The Hill the video of that moment has gone viral today

How was your visit to Columbus yesterday? The Dispatch noted that you avoided talking about the headlines at the Republican Party Fundraising dinner. Wise move. I was disappointed that you described Democrats as "nasty" and called them "left-wing haters." I'm afraid that in doing so you used the exact same rhetoric that you accuse them of using.

I'm glad that the Foreign Investment Risk Review Modernization was a celebration for you. You have a lot going on, so taking a minute to enjoy some success is a nice diversion. USA Today claims that your trip to Columbus, Ohio this evening will also be a nice diversion for you. I'm sure you will be greeted by many enthusiastic Republicans.

What's it like to bestow the Medal of Honor on a family? I imagine it's profoundly moving. Yesterday's recipient, John Chapman, was certainly deserving. Continuing to fight after having lost consciousness and engaging in hand-to-hand combat with 4 bullet holes, including one to the liver.

This morning, my hope was fueled by Richard Ojeda, the "Democratic Trump-whisperer" running for the 3rd District WV Congressional seat. You said something nasty about him at your rally yesterday so I looked him up. He's running a shoe-string campaign with a bunch of amateurs and he may win! He's the perfect WV candidate. According to Politco, he's even more of a populist than you are.
