Are you sure you want to invest so much energy into Patrick Morrisey's Senate race against Joe Manchin? Joe was born and raised in WV. He served as governor. He's got kids and grandkids there. Patrick showed up there in 2006 after being a lobbyist in DC. His biggest campaign promise is that he'll do what you tell him.

I'm a bit confused about the "Salute to the Heroes of ICE" event that you are hosting at the WH today. When I heard the title, I imagined that you were honoring some frontline folk who risked their lives to protect the border. Maybe someone who got into a gun fight with a gang. Does that even happen?

It's not so smoky today - thank goodness! The Ranch Fire in Mendocino is 76% contained, Carr fire is at 83% and the Ferguson Fire is at 100%. Yeah! Cal Fire still has a Red Flag Warning in effect so we're not out of danger, yet. Please keep talking to Sonny Perdue about dealing with this situation and channel more funds to clearing brush and stressed trees.

Have you heard of Ozy? I bumped into it this morning in my daily news exploration. I'm not sure what to think of it. From what I can tell, it's curated news with a bit of original stuff thrown in. Do I need my news curated? I'm not sure. I like to think that I am curating my own news when I hunt around to find out where you are going and what the local paper has to say about your visit. Or when I go to the Facebook pages of the politicians you are meeting with to see how they are presenting themselves to the world.

Is it true that you were "explosive" at the Cabinet Meeting yesterday? While that was a headline for a YouTube video of the meeting, I couldn't find the explosive moment in the transcript. I didn't have time to read every word, and skimmed over all of Larry Kudlow's remarks about the economy. We all know the president does not control the economy, but you can go ahead and try to take credit for it, if that makes you feel good. I also saw a lot of talk about security at schools, drugs, mental health and trade.

Please ask Ryan Zinke and Sonny Perdue about their trip to the area around Redding, CA affected by the Carr fire. I was sorry to see Ryan blaming the fires on “radical groups” that “don’t want to see one tree come out of the forest.” You and I both know the fires are being exacerbated by climate change.

What did you think of the primaries yesterday? Isn't it great that Christine Hallquist will be running for Governor of Vermont? I'm proud of those Vermonters for being so inclusive. Not every state would get excited about a transgender candidate. I'm also excited about Ilhan Omar's win in the 5th District of Minnesota. She can help the nation to see that they don't have to fear Somalian refugees. Best of all is Jahana Hayes' win in the 5th District of CT.

I understand that things got hot in Utica yesterday. Syracuse.com reported that your banquet room in Hotel Utica was so hot that some people had to be escorted out. Apparently, the exchanges on the streets outside got pretty hot too, when your 100 supporters and 500 protesters spent the afternoon screaming at each other.

So, you are off to Utica today, home of the famous Boilmaker 15K Road Race. Apparently, it is very popular, so much so that the Road Racing Hall of Fame is located in Utica. Maybe Rep. Claudia Tenney will take you there on the way to today’s fund raiser. You might want to give away a few discounted tickets to that affair. Some of the locals are miffed that it takes $1000 to get a seat.

You had some Bikers for Trump people visit you yesterday and apparently, it was a crazy scene, only to be topped by the crazy scene in Sturgis. I hope you get a chance to meet Tessa Otto, one of Harley’s 8 college age interns who have been hired to travel the country trying to change the image of the Harley rider. She’s got her nose ring and her bandana as she cruises on her cherry colored Street Glide.
