I hope you have fun at the WH today with Kayne, Kid Rock and Orrin Hatch. I assume Orrin will be there when you sign his Music Modernization Act, HR1551, this afternoon.  I had no idea that Orrin was a song writer! Did you know that he wrote a song about Ted Kennedy's love for his wife, Victoria? Orrin says he writes love songs to take away the pain of his DC activities.

Did you hear the story on NPR this morning about Tomie dePaola's new children's book, "Quiet"? It's about two children and their grandfather who, after noticing all of the animals being super busy, decide to take a moment for contemplation to appreciate the gift of life.

I am sure you will hear a similar rhyme from Kayne West when you, two, have lunch together today. I understand that he wants to talk to you about creating job opportunities for former convicts and bringing more manufacturing jobs to Chicago. I'm sure you will have fun talking to each other. He believes you are a kindred spirit because you are both "unguarded" in your speech.

I encourage you to meet Dr. Yevgeniy Gelfand who is researching the use of the psychedelic drug, methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA), to treat PTSD in police officers. MDMA raises your level of arousal while relaxing you at the same time and is known for increasing feelings of trust and compassion towards others.

I hope you will mention General Frank Petersen Jr in your remarks today. A new Navy destroyer with his name on it will be christened today in MS. He faced tremendous racial prejudice as he broke the color barrier in the Marines to become their first black aviator. He flew 350 combat missions and raised in the ranks to become a base commander.

I'm driving around too much on this adventure in my birthplace to get a chance to write. I am having a brief moment to gather my thoughts because it's raining cats and dogs. A thunderbolt disrupted power a few minutes ago so we are taking shelter in the New Boswell Brew Pub in the Depot District of Richmond. I'll tell you more about it tomorrow.

I didn't get to write to you yesterday because I was too busy driving from Griffin, IN to Richmond. I got a chance to see I-69. You'll remember that's the road that Mike P. hoped to build through a P3 partnership with Isolux Corsun. It's not finished and there's still a stretch that has a couple of stop lights and cross traffic. Just a reminder that making a profit on building infrastructure projects requires some magic that few companies can conjure up. Isolux Corsun was not up to the task.

I'm surprised it's not on your rally tour this week. It looks like you had fun in Wheeling, WV, last night. Do you really think that folks in the Mt State are going to vote for Patrick Morrisey? He's from New Jersey and his wife lobbies for pharmaceuticals.

Have you ever thought about a world without men? My dad used to say that women did not need men and as soon as they figured out how to reproduce without them, they’d kill off all the men so they could live in peace. According to a story in the NYT today, some termites in Japan are doing just that - reproducing without males and doing just fine.

What's it like to spend $850 billion in one fell swoop?  I didn't have time to read the whole thing. I got stopped on Section 8041 that said, "Prohibits funds provided by this bill from being used for assistance to North Korea unless the funds are specifically appropriated for that purpose."

I can say all this, because I grew up with a father who had what we used to call, "a dirty mind." He would announce when he saw a woman without a bra. He would make inappropriate comments about women's appearance. He liked to watch Sonny and Cher so he could make note of her latest surgery.

I hope you are not going "crazy" after receiving some chuckles at the UN when you stated that you accomplished more over two years than “almost any administration.” Some folks speculate that you slipped into your MAGA rally mode and forgot for a moment that the assembled world leaders were not necessarily your fans.

I know you prefer to simplify problems and whittle them down to an us against them situation. You did that last year at your UN speech when you vilified Kim Jung Un, calling him "Rocket Man." I think you are coming to realize it's not so simple in Korea, and Kim Jung Un is as inscrutable as you are.

I do have one quick suggestion. Talk to Jacinda Ardern, PM of New Zealand. She's not joining the 129 countries who are signing your drug pledge because she prefers to do what works best for NA based on evidence. Sounds like she's got some research that could be useful to us and finding out what it is could be quite helpful.

Do you think Josh Hawley has a chance? I think he may be a bit young. According to Politico, his efforts in the Senate race have been "lackadaisical." He's turning down all kinds of opportunities to share his message so much so that St. Louis conservative-talk show, host, Mark Reardon, is "pissed" and "frustrated."
