My Dear Friend and President, DJT,

How are you doing? I hope you are not going "crazy" after receiving some chuckles at the UN when you stated that you accomplished more over two years than “almost any administration.” Some folks speculate that you slipped into your MAGA rally mode and forgot for a moment that the assembled world leaders were not necessarily your fans.

I'm glad that Stephen Miller avoided mocking folks in this speech. Slate claims that John Bolton had some influence on speech composition this time. They identified lines like, "(we)reject the ideology of globalism, and we embrace the doctrine of patriotism around the world" as part of a "Boltian passage."

What is the "doctrine of patriotism anyway?" Does it have anything to do with democracy? Do you think we could ever have a global democracy? How about having every country in the world be its own democracy? I think that might be best. If you agree, then let's stop singing the praises of Saudia Arabia and the UAE. Iran has more of a democracy than those places. Speaking of Iran, what did you mean when you suggested that the people there should be free to follow their "religious and righteous destiny"? While more than 90% of Iranians may be Shia Muslims, folks practice other religions there, too. What's their religious destiny?

I encourage you to explore this Church and State topic with Netanyahu when you meet with him today. He's a fan of a new Israeli law that reserves the right to national-self-determination exclusively for Israel’s Jewish citizens. That makes lots of folks in Israel second-class citizens. That doesn't sound very democratic to me. You might remind him that the Druze are prominent in the military, and he might regret taking away their rights.

Give my regards to Abe Shinto and Theresa May and compliment them on their democracies and the religious freedoms they offer to all of their citizens.

Democracies Rock!
