As you know it’s Ramadan, & our Muslim brethren will be fasting. I suspect that high school kids will have trouble staying awake in school for the next month. Hopefully, their teachers will know what’s going on….

…Have you spent any time with Deb Fischer? … I suggest that you break the ice with her by asking about her Puppies Assisting Wounded Servicemembers (PAWS) Act of 2021 which would supply traumatized vets with a service animal by granting $$ to organizations like the SPCA to train dogs….

…Troubled males with guns can wreak havoc as we are seeing in Myanmar every day. It’s starting to look like war in the Dooplaya District where youth in the Karen National Union have M16s left over from the Vietnam war which they are using to fight off the Tatmadaw. I know you share my hope that things settle down there soon….

…I happened upon an article in the WP about a Twitter poem written by Charlottesville Mayor, Nikuyah Walker about her town. She’s tired of dealing with the veneer of perfection promulgated by the U.VA. profs to assuage their souls so she penned a poem to express her aggravation….

…When you fix the highways, you could use some of the military budget. Then the corporations won’t scream so much about having their taxes raised. You can explain to the Congress that back in the ‘50s, Ike rationalized the Interstate Highway System by saying it was necessary for military maneuvers….

…Did you hear about the garbage strike in Yangon? Folks are throwing their trash on the street in protest of the Tatmadaw. Those Burmese young folks are proving their abilities to organize, & they keep coming up with new ways to gum up the works…
