… I understand that you are not wearing a mask when you are encouraging everyone else to do so. Please realize that many people emulate you, so if you want them wearing masks, you need to put one on. …
I am trying to plan a week’s worth of meals in advance and am making a list….I suggest that you do the same with the next stimulus package that’s in the works. Here are the items I am enthused about…1. $ to states for new voting processes so folks don’t have to choose between casting a ballot and their health. Wisconsin’s vote on Tuesday was a travesty. Please do what you can to prevent that from happening again….
… Thanks for hiring a Latina woman to run the SBA. Jovita Carranza’s (JC) resume suggests that she should be well equipped to lead the agency. It’s too bad that she only had a couple of months to settle into the position before all hell broke loose and she had to hire 7000 new agents to process the 2000 applications that SBA is receiving EVERY MINUTE. …
…Please express your concerns to the people of St John the Baptist Parish in LA. They’ve got the highest per capita CV death rate in the country. Do you agree with the Guardian that 50 years of nitrogen dioxide coming from the Denka Petrochemical plant may have something to do with the high mortality rate? ….
Do you ever get tired of being showered with praise? In your meeting I think Vicki Hollub (VH) and Kelcy Warren were the only folks who didn’t get effusive about what a great job you’re doing with CV. I was hoping to hear what VH had to say. She’s in a precarious position having just done that hostile take-over of Anadarko Petroleum… she’s hoping your intervention with your buddies VVP & MBS will stop them from producing so much oil. It’ll be interesting to see what they decide to do.
Did you read in the WSJ that the Billy Jean King (BJK) National Tennis Center is turning into a 350-bed hospital? As you well know, Elmhurst Hospital is nearby, & the plan is to take the non-Covid-19 cases to BJK’s place. …Making use of these facilities shows such creativity & flexibility, it’s uplifting, isn’t it?
…I was once again impressed by Dr. Birx. She did a great job of fielding that questions that asked for speculation about whether we should have seen this coming. I loved that she talked about confidence intervals and tried to help folks understand the graphs that the modelers have developed….
…Allocation of resources is an imperfect science & the profit motive does not always insure that they are allocated in the best possible manner. That’s what I learned in my econ class. It’s clear that there’s not enough medical equipment to go around and in hindsight, we should have collected more of it to have on hand when the moment came….
I’m glad that the Navy was able to get the Comfort up and running so quickly, given that it was torn apart for maintenance purposes just a week ago. 1000 hospital beds and 12 operating rooms for trauma cases will allow the NYC docs to focus on Co-vid 19 cases. I couldn’t find out how many ventilators they had, but maybe they could loan those to the NYC hospitals.
