My dear Friend & POTUS, DJT,

The news is getting a bit monotonous these days, & since it’s rather disturbing, I’m not reading any newspapers this morning. That’s a total departure for me because, as you know, I find facts, figures and information consoling. I love exploring the intricacies and details of the situations you are facing so I can figure out the origins of the tweets and remarks that can seem so outlandish on first glance. Investigating the people that you will be meeting makes me feel like I’ve extended my social sphere, and reading the local newspaper of the place you are visiting expands my horizons. But now you are not meeting anyone, you are not going anywhere and the situation you are facing stays the same every day.

Last year in my March 30 letter, I questioned the feasibility of closing the border of Mexico & wrote about Lake Okeechobee since you had just visited there the day before. Those were the days! Today your two activities are talking to the governors and having a press conference. I know that some of the governors have rubbed you the wrong way by demanding some supplies while others may have shirked their duties trying to stay on your good side. Please realize that you will impress people by rising above partisan politics rather than trying to make political gains.

We all want this to be over with, but wishing isn’t going to make it so. Accurate facts and figures will console us – promises you can’t keep will just make us tune you out.

            BYBS,

            RCA
