In your meeting I think Vicki Hollub (VH) and Kelcy Warren were the only folks who didn’t get effusive about what a great job you’re doing with CV. I was hoping to hear what VH had to say. She’s in a precarious position having just done that hostile take-over of Anadarko Petroleum… she’s hoping your intervention with your buddies VVP & MBS will stop them from producing so much oil. It’ll be interesting to see what they decide to do.
Did you read in the WSJ that the Billy Jean King (BJK) National Tennis Center is turning into a 350-bed hospital? As you well know, Elmhurst Hospital is nearby, & the plan is to take the non-Covid-19 cases to BJK’s place. …Making use of these facilities shows such creativity & flexibility, it’s uplifting, isn’t it?

I’m glad that the Navy was able to get the Comfort up and running so quickly, given that it was torn apart for maintenance purposes just a week ago. 1000 hospital beds and 12 operating rooms for trauma cases will allow the NYC docs to focus on Co-vid 19 cases. I couldn’t find out how many ventilators they had, but maybe they could loan those to the NYC hospitals.

Math rescued me today. Maybe it can rescue you, too. … I was heading to a very dark place until I saw an article in today’s NYT about a logarithmic graph showing the rate of growth of CV is slowing in Italy. I found comfort in seeing that this too shall pass, even though it will get worse before it gets better.
