Thank you for opening the government back up. It was the right thing to do and took courage. Ignore your TV and stay away from your Twitter account for a couple of days so you don't have to see all the crazy reactions, and then you can get back to work[…]

… I tried to find out which mayors were coming to the White House to speak with you about economic growth today and I only found one: Rey Martinez of Loganville, GA, the first Hispanic mayor in the state. He's your kind of guy, […]

Wallito - How do you like that name for the edifice that you would like to put up in the desert? The brilliance of that moniker is that it contains the word, "wall", while making it sound cute and benign. The Spanish twist makes it amusing. You could tell your base that you are building the Wall, and the Dems can say, it's not really a wall. […}

What did you think of the MLK monument? Isn't it colossal? Next year I hope you'll spend more time commemorating MLK's life. He had a lot to teach us.

Where to start? Where to start this letter? Where to start dealing with the complex problems of our times? Where to start on our home repairs? Getting started is so hard to do! At least for me it is. Unfortunately, the article in today's WSJ, An Antidote to Procrastination, was not much help at all […]

Nice try! I appreciate that you are looking for a compromise and shared your idea in your announcement yesterday. You will need to get more creative. Offering 3 more years of DACA status to the 700,000 who have applied to the program is not enough, but it's a start […]

It was a sad day here in Davis yesterday. Police officers from all around the country came to honor the life of Rookie, Natalie Corona, who was killed by a mentally ill man last week. She was on duty at the scene of a car accident, and a guy came up on his bike and shot her several times […]

I see that you have taken up writing letters. Did you get help writing yesterday's letter to NDP about canceling her trip? Lindsey Graham called the letters between the two of you, "sophomoric," but I think they're brilliant. […]

You probably started feeling better as soon as you got up this morning and started thinking about buying fancy missiles to put in space. Since those Pentagon folks may not want those missiles, you are probably experiencing some uncertainty about whether you will be able to procure them which further enhances your dopamine rush. I don't think we need any more military hardware and I hope the Pentagon group agrees with me […]

I'm also sorry to hear that no one is moving on the shutdown. I feel sorry for those folks who are being asked to come back to work without a paycheck. I am most concerned about the TSA agents who don't make much in the first place so can't save money for this kind of thing.

What did those Tigers think of the fast food spread that you offered them last night? Since they are growing college boys they were probably not too mad that they missed out on the gourmet fare usually provided at the WH.

You'll be happy to hear that at 5:15 AM this morning the TSA line at SMF was ok. My ELD got through it with ease and had plenty of time to get to her gate. According to her text, boarding at the gate was a "nightmare" but that's often the case even when the government is not shut down. […]

I need your advice about when to leave for the airport tomorrow morning. My ELD (ever loving daughter) has a plane back to the mid-west at 6:30 AM. While the 300 TSA employees at SMF did get a $500 bonus and a couple of days pay, they did not get their full paychecks on Friday, so I wouldn't be surprised if some of them call in sick. […]

Here's a ray of hope for you about the Border. According to Ali Noorani executive director of the National Immigration Forum, "if the government detained only those individuals convicted of serious crimes, U.S. taxpayers would be saved approximately $1.44 billion per year." You could use those savings for border security. A win-win!
