I am confused. I thought that Republicans were in favor of local control – keep the government small, give people as much freedom as possible. That’s what my dad and grandmother always said. KC has a 9.6% positive test rate which means that if my daughter encounters 10 people when she goes out, 1 of them is probably infected. When she goes to work at her school, she may be encountering 100 kids a day, 10 of whom will be infected. … Fortunately, the teachers in that region are getting organized to resist efforts to force them back into the classroom.

Help me understand your plans for the USPS. …We love our mail carriers. Mine is Julie & when I asked her what I should do about my lost mailbox key, she assured me that if my box was too full, she’d bring my letters to my door. … I know that among the 600,000 postal workers, a few are grumpy, but for the most part they are affable public servants who will make some noise if they are prevented from doing their jobs properly.

…I encourage you to take a look at the sobering article in the LAT today that talks about how ocean front property in Manhattan Beach was stolen from a Black family in 1924. It illustrates how governmental action has prevented the families of formerly enslaved people from acquiring wealth, making it clear that reparations are in order. I hope you’ll start considering how you can share your wealth….
