So, what’s up with Venezuela? I tried to learn something about it this morning, but it’s too complicated for the short time I have to devote to figuring it out. You must feel the same way which would explain why you expressed a willingness to meet with Nicolas Maduro (NMM) over the weekend and then backtracked on that idea on Monday.

Did you see the op-ed about Susan Collins (SMC) in the NYT this morning? The author, Jennifer Finney Boylan, laments that SMC has disappointed ME by not standing up to you. …Maybe you can call SMC & give her some encouragement. I’m sure that article was a blow.

I just read in the Guardian that Kayne West has announced he is running for President in 2020 & Elon Musk is endorsing him. ABC speculates that this could be just a publicity stunt to sell his new album, “God’s Country.” Did you encourage him to run so he can draw some of Biden’s supporters away?

I just looked up Braxton Bragg today. You might have admired his argumentative personality but I’m sure you wouldn’t be impressed with his performance in Nov. 1863 … We really don’t need to keep his name alive. Reading Chad Williams’ opinion piece in the WP today will help you understand why you removing the names of Confederates from our bases matters.

It’s a happy day! I got some tickets to visit Yosemite in August. It’ll be wonderful to be there in the summer with a limited number of visitors. ... Have you been to Yosemite? If not, I encourage you to go. … Every time I go, I marvel at the beauty of the Earth and the wisdom of John Muir and others who realized we had to make the most spectacular spots accessible to the public. …Was the boat that you saw one of those fancy Littoral Combat Ships equipped with “rolling airframe missiles”, “Mark 110 guns” & various unmanned systems including underwater vehicles for blowing up mines and submarines. Was all that gear part of the $362 million sticker price or did we have to pay extra?…
