The only part of the RNC I saw last night was Melania’s speech. I liked her emphasis on learning – she said, “learn about the past…we have so much to learn from one another,” & “let us reflect on our mistakes.” Even better was her acknowledgement that “we ae not proud of parts of our history.” I did experience some cognitive dissonance when I saw that Melania was talking about uniting the country while wearing a military-ish outfit….
I just watched SC Senator Tim Scott’s (TES) speech from last night’s convention. I was pleasantly surprised. … He might have gone a bit overboard claiming that the Dems want a “cultural revolution” & “socialist utopia,” but I had to agree with several of the columnists and contributors to the NYT, that his speech was a good one.
…So how are you feeling about Kellyanne’s (KEC) resignation? My gut tells me she decided to choose her family & husband over your reelection. I smiled when I read her “less drama, more mama” rationale. It does make some sense that she wants to be around when her “teens & tweens” are doing their on-line learning….
…As I have mentioned before our siblings know us better than anyone & our rivalries for our parents’ affections can sometimes set us against each other. It sounds like you & Robert got past that. It’s too bad that some of that enmity remains with Maryanne. I hope you can repair your rift with her….
…I am feeling grateful after listening to a snippet of NV Sen. Jacky Rosen questioning the Post Master General about the analysis he did to decide to radically change USPS operations. She wanted to make sure that he had considered the cost to elderly folks when their prescriptions, social security checks & bills are slow in coming. She wanted to see some data & requested transparency….
…CQB is a special man & I hope you spend some time with him. He is eager to address systemic racism, but has the humility to acknowledge that he doesn’t have all the answers. He hopes to have the “wisdom & knowledge to lead & participate in necessary conversations about diversity & inclusion” so he can listen….
…I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw that you said, “Women dominate the United States. I think we can say that very strongly.” I’m not sure what to make of that statement. Does that mean you are afraid of women? Does that mean you are in awe of women? Or were you just saying that to make the folks in the room happy?…
..Maybe this emphasis on jobs, jobs, jobs needs to be reconsidered. WI is currently down 16,000 manufacturing jobs from when you took office. … Places like the Verso mill in WI Rapids just shut down & it doesn’t look like anyone is too interested in continuing to use the glossy paper that they produced. Perhaps if we funded the USPS & gave some kind of discount to deliver magazines, we could get that paper mill up & running again….
