I saw the moment when you hugged Nat’s catcher, Kurt Suzuki, yesterday. I was surprised that he traded in his baseball cap for a MAGA hat. I’m even more surprised that he didn’t realize that he would get some flak for that and complained that, “Everybody makes everything political.” As you and I well know, everything IS political, even baseball.
…How did you enjoy the MMA event last night? I couldn't tell if you were getting cheered or booed when you entered the Garden. I assume you had your fans and your detractors there, and folks at those events get riled up when anyone enters the cage so the noise is just part of the atmosphere. …
… So, back to Dia de Los Muertos - I encourage you to acknowledge the holiday in some way. You could honor your own departed loved ones or, you could do as James Garcia of the Arizona Mirror suggests, and honor all of those in the US who have lost their lives unjustly in mass shootings….
… Can you tell I'm still on a high from the Nat's improbable win last night? Isn't it great that the "viejos" finally won! As Barry Svrluga's wrote in the WP today, "there was no doubt, just hope." Please give Howie Hendrick a call and congratulate him on his game changing homerun. He seems like a super nice guy and deserves some recognition…
…Did you really have to say all of that mean stuff about CPD Supt. Eddie Johnson? As he noted, ‘Today, the same police officers, the president criticized for their inability to protect this city, spent all day protecting him." He says that "getting caught up in negativity has just never been something that" he does. I love that!
Our power was out so I wrote my letter on paper and did not consult the news.
…What was your impression of Benedict's President, Dr. Rosalyn Artis? You, two, have a lot in common. She calls herself a tornado….It's unclear how she feels about you, but I'm sure she's happy to see her institution in the national news….
…As I'm sure you know, most of Columbia, SC is unsettled by your visit to Benedict College. … I think they're so disturbed because there are still plenty of folks who carry hate and anger toward the descendants of enslaved people. Folks who have repeatedly desecrated memorials to Emmett Till. So much so that the new memorial that they put up last Saturday in Glendora, MS is bulletproof. I encourage you to apologize for using that word (lynching) so casually.

…I hear that Roger Penske (RSP) will be getting the Presidential Medal of Freedom today. When I googled "Penske Trump" I expected to find that he was one of you big donors who liked to hobnob at your clubs. Instead I found a 1988 piece from the WP that compared the two of you, noting that you were a "philosopher king" while RSP labored in the shadows. …
…So, as your friend, I have to tell you that I cringe when you talk about being "lynched." Senator Tim Scott can help you understand why that is….

…I was surprised to see Larry Kudlow(LAK) citing Mark Zandi (MMZ) of Moody Analytics when talking about how great the economy is doing. LAK was talking about 180,000 new jobs as if that was a great accomplishment, but MMZ talks about it as a slowing in hiring as the "trade war takes a toll on the economy." …
…Even your friend, LOG, is unsettled by you. I'm sure you heard that he called you a "handful" and an "equal opportunity abuser of people." He also said that you can be "charming and gracious." He wants to do what he can to help you, but it sounds like he's lost some confidence in you….
