…This thing with Elijah Cummings (EEC) has gotten away from you and it's UGLY!!! … Is Mick Mulvaney correct when he says that your denigrating remarks about Baltimore were hyperbole? If so, please clarify what you really think of the Monumental City.

So, my suggestion for the day is, if we want to keep seeing the reduction in crime that has been taking place for the past 30 years let's keep giving women access to family planning. That insures that babies will be born to parents who can care for them.

I am somewhat bummed to read about Guatemala's President Jimmy Morales. How many TV stars are in positions of power these days? …Do you think he can be trusted to follow through on this asylum deal you worked out with him?

Congratulations …. Mueller's appearance in Congress is over and nothing new or shocking was revealed. You dodged another bullet and are in the WH for the rest of your term. …

Did you enjoy spending time with your buddy, WV Gov. Jim Justice (JCJ), yesterday? I had to smile when I read his remarks, "We really are real friends." Apparently, JCJ's $1.9 billion make him the wealthiest person in WV.

…I'm afraid that you got carried away yesterday at that Teen Action Summit and claimed that Article II of the Constitutiongives you the right to do whatever you want. I am sure you didn't exactly mean that, but you gave all of those teens the impression that you are the king. I hope they know enough US history to understand it's that kind of power that our founding fathers were worried about. Next time, please watch what you say…

…I'm sure you'll have a blast at the Teen Student Action Summit today. Those bright-eyed kids remind me of the "Dartmouth Review" crew in Hanover in 1978-1982. It was amazing what a ruckus a few well-funded youngsters can kick up. I have always found it ironic that one of the most heartless of the group has since become a Catholic priest….

…Speaking of "troubled," that's how I am feeling about the crackdown on Chinese scholars I read about in today's LA Times. I really don't think it's a good idea to harass brilliant people and accuse them of being spies. …

…we live in a racist culture where, whether consciously or not, we associate a person's race with all sorts of attributes based on how much melanin they have. Those associations come from the media, from family, from school and sadly, from church. Dr. Beverly Tatum calls it the smog that we live in and are just barely aware of…

… I am writing about the weather this morning because I really don't have much else to say today. I could tease you about having some empty seats in the arena in Greensville this week and ask you to clarify what you really think about the "Send her back" chant that day….

How did your visit with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte (MR) go? …Isn't it great that the Dutch import more US goods than they export to us employing 800,000 US workers? I think their path to success is that they are tolerant, inclusive and pragmatic…

Jul 18 7/18/2019

I hope you will reflect on what you heard from the people that you met in the Oval Office yesterday who were telling you about the religious persecution they had suffered. … They are suffering because leaders of their countries capitalize on hate. Do you want to capitalize on hate? I don't think so…

I found it interesting that TX Rep. William Hurd voted with the Dems to condemn those tweets yesterday. He's a fascinating guy, don't you think? The Texas Monthly noted that he is "exuberant and wonky" and manages to "speak truth to power." He's an old-fashioned conservative while being against the Wall and your immigration policies… " Do you think he could be President someday? We could do worse.

How did the Made in America Showcase go? I read your remarks. Thank goodness there were no surprises. I wish you had taken the opportunity to apologize for hurting so many people's feelings with your tweet about the "squad." …

I'm sorry I sent yesterday's letter late in the day AFTER you sent your VERY nasty tweet telling your detractors to "go back where they came from." Perhaps if you had seen my letter early in the day you would have refrained and then people like Thersa May wouldn't have to tell the world that your language was "completely unacceptable." …
