Thanks for being your best self yesterday when all of those daughters and sons were at the WH! You said all the right things. … I was thrilled to hear you acknowledge that the press core reports accurately…. Please show that side of yourself more often. You could start today when you give your speech at the NRA convention in Indianapolis…
…What do you think of Joe Biden's candidacy? If the cover of the NYT is any indicator, he might give you a run for your money. Your name appears there 12 times today and his appears 11 times. I would prefer a younger, more progressive Democratic candidate and would be really excited to see a woman running against you. Joe, is the "been there, done that" candidate, don't you think? …
How was your visit with the photographers yesterday? Did you get a chance to chat with Doug Mills, your favorite NYT photographer? Folks say you like him because you are a visual person. I am, too. …Did you see Doug's photo of José María Olazábal's ball skipping over the water at the Master's this year? Reminds me of a Seurat painting.
… I am finding it hard to embrace the message of Easter this year. The fire at Nortre Dam, the bombings in Sri Lanka, families suffering on the border and my husband's diminished health have me feeling doubtful. Fortunately, when my hope wanes, something wonderful happens, like my squash seeds germinate or someone leaves homemade soup for us, and my soul is renewed…
…How do you help kids understand that Jesus got a little too popular for the rulers of the day so they decided they needed to get rid of him? Kids don't get politics so that part of the story is lost on them. Eventually, you get to the part where the disciples find an empty tomb. Since I find that hard to believe myself, I always have a hard time helping them comprehend how miraculous that would be…
…According to the Palm Beach Post he (Felix Sater) is mentioned 104 times in the report. How can it be that I have not heard of him before? I know that you claim that you wouldn't be able to pick FHS out of line-up but Michael Cohen thinks otherwise. It's possible that you'd be oblivious to the people who shared your floor in Trump Towers but unlikely…
Thanks for hosting the 29 Wounded Warriors at the WH today. Isn't it wonderful that they are healing on the saddles of their bicycles and creating a community? Please express my appreciation to Jeremiah Pauley and Jorge Avalos, and promise them you will do your best to prevent other young folk from having to suffer the long-term effects of war by keeping the US out of military entanglements. I am sure they agree with us that WAR IS NOT THE ANSWER….
…Please remember the Quaker mantra, "War is not the answer." I encourage you to go with your gut instinct to avoid USA involvement in other countries. Be like Gilda Radner's character, Emily Litella, and tell Congress, "never mind," and go ahead and sign the resolution to pull our troops out of Yemen…
… I saw a clip of your remarks in Minnesota about the fire, and I could tell that you shared my sense of loss. Some in the press are critiquing your suggestion to send water tankers to douse the flames. I am learning to keep such suggestions to myself with the understanding that I don't know everything and that folks with more knowledge and experience than I are handling the situation….
…I am led to preach to you today because you have been saying mean things about Rep. Ilhan Omar and now people are threatening to kill her. I wish you didn't have that effect on some people. But, believe it or not, some people take what you say very seriously. I tend not to. I have been conditioned by the Ambrose side of my family to expect exaggeration and sarcasm so I always listen with skepticism to what you are saying….
…I suspect that your impudence may have come from being sent to the principal's office once too often. Frequent visitors to the principal eventually learn that being in trouble isn't that bad. They get reprimanded, maybe have to spend an hour sitting around and then get sent back to class. They eventually become immune to the sting of shame and grow into repeat offenders. Am I right? Did you get sent to the principal a lot?…
Something weird is going on at the NYT. Your name does not appear on the front page of the website. Not once! That has to be on purpose. Don't you think? You had that meeting with MJI yesterday, and you two talked about arranging another meeting with KJU. Certainly, that is worthy of reporting on the front page…
