…The folks in Crosby, TX are thrilled that you are coming through town today. You might want to bring your face mask to protect your lungs from the fumes that might still be lingering in the air after their recent fire at the KMCO plant. Folks in Texas are tired of those chemical fires and most really don't want you to eliminate the US Chemical Safety Board….
…Please help me understand why you are hosting Abdel Fattah al-Sisiat at the WH today? I'm sure you are well aware that he's trying to get some amendments to Egypt's constitution so he can be in power until 2034. Even if he were a benevolent ruler, that would be a bad idea. Don't you think? …
…I am having trouble getting started with this letter today, because I am not sure what to say about Kirstjen Nielsen. Her loyalty to you has been impressive…. She practiced parrhesia, speaking the truth about what you could and could not do under the law. I did not agree with many of her decisions, but I did admire her grit and determination.
… I am wondering about your choice to nominate Herman Cain to be on the Federal Reserve. He doesn't seem to have the right disposition, and he certainly has a thing against Democrats. He says that they“brainwash” the nation, “murder kids” and will “rig the next election." He may know how to sell pizza but is that enough to set monetary policy?…
…Have you visited Sheldon Adelson? It must be bittersweet for him, with his Sands stocks appreciating dramatically from his thriving gambling business in Macau and his health deteriorating from non-Hodgkin lymphoma. I tried to figure out about Sheldon's efforts to influence the Israeli election by reading an op-ed in the Haaertz by Bradly Burston but it just left me confused…
… If I had more time I would stop by Calexico to say "hi" while we are both down in So Cal today. The folks there are hoping you will take a look at the New River while you check out the border. It sounds AWFUL! They'd prefer we invest our federal $ in a water treatment plant to take care of the all of the waste being dumped into the H2O by folks in Mexicali….
… I hope your conversation with the Opportunity and Revitalization Council goes well today. Will Lynne Patton be there? I'm sure you saw the nice press that she got in the WSJ the other day. Her sleepovers in the NYC public housing units garnered some much-needed attention for the deplorable living conditions that our citizens have to endure in those dilapidated buildings. …
How was your day with Jens, yesterday? Were you feeling all right? Vox found your comments to the press, "troubling." I'm sure you had a lot on your mind so keeping track of your father's birthplace and properly pronouncing the word, "origin," were probably not at the forefront of your thinking. The NYT noted that Jens gave you credit for pressuring NATO member states to pay up. It was nice of you to express confidence in him….
…. So, it looks like you had a nice time with the X-Cons at the First Step celebration yesterday. I think it's great that folks can get of jail now. It would be even better if we didn't put them there in the first place. Alice Marie Johnson is such a great ambassador for the program. That woman is so full of love and forgiveness. We all have a lot to learn from her generosity of spirit and her tenacity….
… I suspect that you are trying to put such worries out of your mind by playing golf right now. Are you playing with Mike Tyson? I saw a photo of him at Mar-a-Lago yesterday so I assume you two are palling around together. I guess that means he is no longer worried that you are having an affair with his wife. According to the "Sun" you picked up some of your "tactics of ridicule and intimidation" from Mike. If so, I think it's time that you both reconsider your approaches. …
… Instead of worrying about the caravans, how about turning your attention to saving the manatees instead? I'm sure you heard about them yesterday when you visited Lake Okeechobee, aka Lake O. Of course, the manatee don't live in the lake but they suffer when the algae blooms there and ends up out in the ocean. As you know every living thing suffers when that happens. And it's happening A LOT. …
It looks like you had a good time in Grand Rapids. From what I could see on the MLive, your adoring fans were out in force. I'm afraid that many of them looked angry. It's disturbing to see young men clenching their fists with enraged looks on their faces. I have taught many young men and I know that they often make bad choices. Riling them up into a frenzy is a bad idea. Please stop doing that… Read More
…The Detroit News editors are skeptical about William Barr's (WPB) interpretation of the Mueller Report. They want to get their hands on the complete report. I think that everyone does, so I hope that WPB goes ahead and hands it over. Speaking of WPB, don't you think he looks like Fred Flintstone?…
…Speaking of cherishing Mother Nature, I think that's what Travis Atkins did. You'll recall that he's the guy you are commemorating with the Medal of Honor this afternoon. Apparently he loved to fish, hunt and snowmobile in his home state of MT. That's probably why he joined the 10th Mountain Division, so he could use his backcountry skills in his work. ..
