My dear Friend and President, DJT,

Are you excited about the cherry blossoms? They are about to reach their peak bloom so I hope you have plans to get out there and take a look. Our crab apples are blooming right outside my window, lifting my spirits with their bright pink blossoms. Unfortunately, we're going to have rain and wind today which will knock some petals down, so I am cherishing them right this minute! We need to do more of that, don't you think? Cherish the beauty of the Earth right this minute? I hope you find time to do that.

Speaking of cherishing Mother Nature, I think that's what Travis Atkins did. You'll recall that he's the guy you are commemorating with the Medal of Honor this afternoon. Apparently he loved to fish, hunt and snowmobile in his home state of MT. That's probably why he joined the 10th Mountain Division, so he could use his backcountry skills in his work. I doubt he realized that he'd end up patrolling a road near Baghdad. I can't imagine throwing myself on top of a suicide bomber to save the lives of my comrades. I suspect that he was acting on instinct. That kind of courage is rare and I'm glad that you are recognizing his sacrifice at the White House today. Reading about his tour of duty in Iraq reminded me that WAR IS NOT THE ANSWER! I hope you'll keep that in mind.

Folks on NPR are flummoxed about your decision to try to eliminate Obama Care. I suspect that you just like to keep us all guessing. I doubt we'll ever get used to it.

            Cherish the day!

RCA
