My Dear Friend & POTUS, DJT,

It’s Giving Tuesday. Will you be spreading the organization’s message that we should all engage in “radical generosity” which is “defined by the transformational powers of empathy & solidarity, not a series of transactions or discrete interactions?”  I was grateful to see that Giving Tuesday is not just about donating $$, although that can be quite helpful to charitable organizations trying to do good in the world.

As we share our resources of time & money, my husband & I are inclined towards those that involve personal connections rather than arms’ length investments that can be achieved through a website. Human connections feel stronger than financial ones, so I’m planning to go meet my husband’s new friend, Wes, who hangs out at a busy intersection & sleeps in an alley behind a paint shop. Wes is receptive to conversation & is living in one of the most uncomfortable, insecure situations imaginable. The only situations that could be worse would be living in warzones like Burma, Gaza, Sudan or Ukraine. We will never have serenity until everyone in the world has it.

I appreciate that you are devoting all of your time & attention to governing our nation. While I rarely agree with your decisions & worry that the people who surround you are battling with tremendous personal insecurities which lead them to engage in what some would call, “toxic masculinity,” I recognize the tremendous amount of energy that you put into your position as POTUS. I admire your generosity with your time.

Perhaps you can devote some of today’s cabinet meeting to finding out how your secretaries are participating in Giving Tuesday. I’d love to know where their financial contributions go & if they volunteer their time for any special cause. Perhaps they view their labors for you as “radical generosity,” & if that’s the case, please ask them to articulate how they are cultivating empathy & solidarity.

BYBS,

RCA
