My Dear Friend & POTUS, DJT,
In our world today, corners of quiet are few & far between. Last night, I experienced tranquility admiring the reflection of the rising supermoon reflected on the ripples of Monterey Bay. This morning’s blue sky promises another wonderous opportunity to experience this awesome place.
Unfortunately, as I write this in the breakfast buffet at the Lighthouse Lodge & Cottages I am feeling the agitation of s well-meaning employee who gets more & more agitated as each guest arrives. The turbulence is exacerbated by two TVs airing morning news shows. Best to leave now, before it gets worse.
Vacating premises such as these is a luxury that folks like you & I take for granted. Too many on our planet cannot find refuge from aversive environments much worse than the breakfast buffet.
It doesn’t have to be that way. We could provide safe havens in our land of plenty & I believe doing so would contribute to greater peace on Earth.
SoW, as you strive to be known as a peace maker, I encourage you to make some new F(f)riends. You need some folks in your life to remind you about the complexity of peace. They can help you to see that just getting leaders to sign a piece of paper does not stop violent conflict. Instead, we need to change systems, so everyone feels they are getting a fair share.
F(f)riends can help you understand that the people In North Kivu & South Kivu in DRC won’t settle down until they know they can freely practice their religions & everyone will be accorded the same rights, no matter what tribe they might come from. F(f)riends can you help you understand that the various ethnicities living on the border of Burma need to know that structures are in place to ensure they are treated fairly. F(f)riends can help you understand that Sudan is not “garbage” & that blowing up boats in the Caribbean Sea is NOT an act of peace.
