My Dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,

How did you gain the confidence of so many people? How do you stay young? How do you stay positive? I have all these questions this morning because I am stewing over Mayanmar and the Superbowl.

The situation in Maynmar has me wondering about power, how one gets it & how one keeps it. How does a guy like Min Aung Hlaing (MAH) become a general, able to detain a popular leader for owning walkie talkies? According to Nikkei Asia, he had trouble getting into the Defense Services Academy & up until 2002 was an “unremarkable officer.” I guess he knew how to flatter his superiors & now he’s the top guy. It seems that the people in the streets prefer Aung San Suu Kyi. Perhaps the youngsters in the military do, too. Perhaps that’s what MAH is afraid of. In any case, I’m holding them in the Light, hoping there is no blood shed.

I hope there’s no blood shed in Tampa at the Superbowl either. Isn’t it amazing that the Bucaneers’ QB, Tom Brady (TEPB) is playing at age 43? An article in today’s NYT speculated on whether his longevity is due to genetics, luck or ‘prehab.’ It seems that it’s his mindset which is an odd combo of intense competitiveness along with an incredibly disciplined approach to caring for his mind & body. It could also be that he has helpful friends, including his fashion model wife, Gisele Bundchen, & his personal wellness coach, Alex Guerrero. He & Alex talk about being “physically fit, emotionally stable & spiritually sound.” They strive for muscle pliability to avoid injury & they believe that “where your concentration goes, your energy flows and that’s what grows.” TEPB has an odd combo of DJT’s power of positive thinking along with some Zen. It’ll be interesting to see how he does today.

To what do you owe your longevity in politics? I look forward to seeing if I can figure that out.

            BYBS,
