My Dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,

            The old guy did it! Actually, I think TEPB owes the win to his defense who completely stymied Mahomes. The NYP says the MVP was the Bucs Defensive Coordinator, Todd Bowles. Apparently, his secret was “to take away the first read.” I have no idea how a team might do that, but it worked.  Now that he has redeemed himself, I hope an owner will recognize he should be head coach again. I think we need more folks with melanin in charge in the NFL, don’t you? Will you be inviting the Bucs to the WH? Perhaps you can do some kind of virtual gathering.

            Speaking of such things, I understand that you will be getting a virtual tour of the State Farm Stadium vaccination center in Glendale, AZ. I’m impressed that they keep that place operating 24/7. It’s too bad that getting folks vaccinated has turned into such a nightmare. My 87-year-old mom finally got her vaccination. As you know, she had been trying to find a shot for weeks. On Friday, the City of Williamsburg called her to rush over to get a shot. They had her name because she volunteers at the library & called her when they had some extra shots. Now she can shelve books with more peace of mind.

            I hope we can find shots for all of the teachers who want them, so they can get back to their classrooms with some peace of mind. I understand that you have been in regular communication with Randi Weingarten. According to the NYT she’s doing what she can to persuade her 1.7 million members to make some compromises so they can teach in person.

            Did you enjoy yesterday’s sermon at St. Joseph on the Brandywine? I listened to some of it, but have to admit that it was hard to get past the Father’s raspy voice.

Did you take it personally when he talked about Jesus’ first 100 hours of public ministry & the “honeymoon of power?” Are you getting high off of the “euphoria of public opinion?” In any case, I hope you got a spiritual boost from your excursion to church.
