My Dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,

I hope you are enjoying a relaxing day in Delaware. Maybe you’ll get out on your bike, or at least go for a walk with the dogs. I know those things can become a security nightmare, but you deserve some time outside after the intense work schedule you have kept up for the past 16 days.

Who will you be cheering for in the Superbowl? I have to cheer for KC, even though I abhor their team name & the chop that the fans do. My daughter is living there now so I read the KC Star & I have become a fan of their 25-year-old QB, Patrick Mahomes. Thanks to him KC is “woke.” Well sort of. At least they aren’t booing him anymore which they did the first game of the season because he had the audacity to say that “Black Lives Matter.” He is investing in KC by giving a million $ to renovate MLK Jr. Square Park & donating a bunch of $ for voting machines for Arrowhead Stadium. It’s cool to see such a young guy use his spotlight to enlighten folks.

Speaking of spotlights, I understand that Jill & your pups will be in a Superbowl ad tomorrow. I’m sure you’ve heard that Coke & a few other companies decided not to spend $5.5 million for 30 seconds of our attention. The ad guys say that coming up with an appropriate ad for this awkward time is “threading the needle.” I guess it was complicated to make the ads. To avoid having actors infect each other, some of the couples we will see are couples in real life. M&Ms will have an ad for the first time. I’ll bet that will be cute.

I applaud you for canceling DJT’s intelligence briefings. He doesn’t need to know any more of our secrets. After writing him every day for 4 years, I still couldn’t decide if he was a clown or a genius. Either way, I never grew to trust him so I think your decision is prudent.

I am tempted to write about Jeffrey Wilson’s new book, Shakespeare and Trump, but alas I have run out of time so I will take my leave.

            BYBS,
