I’m afraid that you have been eclipsed by the weather as far as news goes. You do not have any mentions in the NYT, 3 in WP & 1 in G which is about your call for the EPA to investigate the role of climate crisis in the tornado that just devastated KY. That WAS freaky! According to my quick read of the facts we usually don’t have warm humid air hitting cold, dense, dry air at the beginning of winter, so the meteorologists have to sort through all kinds of data to develop an explanation for this thing. One emphasized that the storm was moving as fast as a car on the highway which is why it was able to cover so much ground before petering out.
The whole planet is having weird weather. Maybe the leaders at the B9 meeting the other day told you about the polar vortex that is sitting on the Northern countries. Delyankir, Russia was negative 78 degrees this week which created a 153-degree difference between the highest & lowest temps in Russia. Even freakier still is the fact that zombie fires continue to burn in Siberia despite the cold. Those fires started during the sizzling temps this summer & continue consuming peat & expelling C02, despite the cold.
My suggestion for the day is that you make more noise about climate change so that you get covered in every paper in the nation. We need to change our habits & the start of 2022 is the perfect time to do that!!! 2022 = 6 x 337 which is a perfect # times a prime – so it’s the prime/perfect time to drive/fly less, eat less meat & keep the thermostat down.
Unsettling news from France 24 is that the “Burmese army has introduced mandatory military training for the children of military members, effectively creating a reserve force and breaking international humanitarian laws in the process.” Let’s be creative in considering how to address this problem.
