DJT,

It’s tempting to get caught up in this Supreme Court Justice nomination drama, but rather than learn about Amy Coney Barrett or Allison Jones Rushing, I’m going to write about other things.

First, I am wondering whatever happened to the infrastructure spending that you wanted to do. Since you are “fighting for the American worker”, I encourage you to resurrect the idea of building some roads and bridges. Construction work is wonderful employment. It’s physically active. It involves working with a team, seeing the fruits of one’s labor,  a 9 – 5 schedule &  practicing social distancing is a snap. When you head to Dayton today, you might talk to the locals about their water pipes which leak about 5 billion gallons of water every year. I’m sure there are people who would love to help dig up the streets to put in some new plumbing.

Second, I am confused about Tik Tok. It seems to me that you gave a very nice present to your friend, Larry Ellison (LJE), when you forced the Chinese to hand over their US operation. Now LJE & his friends at Oracle own 20% of Tik Tok. Something seems fishy there.

I wish I had more time to discern what our relationship with China should be, then I could be a more conscientious consumer. I wonder if I should be buying a shower curtain liner that is “Made in China” when the Chinese government has imprisoned 1 million Muslims in Xinjiang & is eliminating democracy from Hong Kong. Do you think we should be buying $450 billion worth of goods from them? Maybe we can team up with our allies to put exert pressure on them to give their citizens more freedom. Then I would feel better about my shower curtain purchase.

Don’t forget that Dayton has an opioid problem that is worse than ever. Please ask how you can help with that during your visit there.

            HYITL,
