Someone quoted in the G called it “economic apocalypse.” You could always choose to ignore Congress & continue to pay the debt since Alexander Hamilton insisted, the fed government needs “a national credit rating beyond cavil or reproach.”

…last night I went to the Chancellor’s House for dinner. It’s not the WH, but it’s not my house either.…The dinner was to honor Barbara Brandon-Croft (BBC), 1st Black woman to have a nationally syndicated comic, Where I’m Coming From. My colleague, Darnell Degand … invited me as one of his guests to the event. I felt honored….
