How was the rally last night? I’m glad that people got off their couches to get civically engaged. … Most energetic of all were the war protesters who had the courage to interrupt the rally with their NO WAR banner. Citizens getting politically active – that’s what democracy is all about – don’t you think?

Let’s both resolve to embrace honesty in 2020. Judi Ketteler’s article in yesterday’s NYT suggests that we do so by being more aware of when and why we lie and making sure that we are honest with ourselves.… doing so will “help lift the gloom of … an increasingly dishonest world.” Wouldn’t it be a relief to feel the freedom of the truth?
