My Dear Friend & POTUS, DJT,

It’s too bad that you had to leave Camp David on Saturday night. Folks speculate that your premature departure was due to the Houthis attempted attack on Riyadh. I’m not sure what you can do to avoid this escalation, but I appreciate that you are monitoring it. 

It’s depressing to see that Yemen has erupted into violence again after 4 years of relative calm. I get the sense that the Houthis are fighting for independence as they identify as Zaidiyyah who feel compelled to rise up & depose unjust leaders. It troubles me that their faith includes a principle which justifies violence. It’s fortunate that the Saudis have intercepted all of their missiles. Hopefully they can settle their differences soon!!

Speaking of setting differences, please make that the focus of your remarks at the UN tomorrow. Remind the world that WINTA! 

As you visit the UN, please take a minute to tell U Kyaw Moe that you consider him to be the legitimate representative for Burma no matter what MAH may say & that you will support his remaining at the UN for the next year.

Since you are heading to the UN, it would be great if you could say something about today being International Peace Day. 

Finally, do you have any advice on what I should do with my savings? The G ran a piece by Larry Elliott today which warned that a financial crisis could be coming. The combination of the crazy gas prices & the AI shake up could tank the stock market. He noted that other financial blow ups emerged in Sept so we need to “to plan for another September meltdown.” 

I hope your visit with Mayor Mamdani at Gracie Mansion goes well today.
