My Dear Friend & POTUS, DJT,
Isn’t it sad that Dolly Parton (DRPD) departed us? She was one-of-a-kind & was, somehow, able to draw everyone in. Even my mom, who in the 1970s would make dismissive comments about Dolly every time she showed up on TV. Seeing 9-to-5 changed her mind when she saw that Dolly meant business.
I loved DRPD’s self-deprecating sense of humor that led her to say things like, “"I try not to get political but if I am, I might as well just run myself 'cause I've got the hair for it, & they could always use more boobs in the race.” Her passion for learning that led her to create the Imagination Library resonated with me. Most of all I appreciated the way she defied social norms & insisted on being her authentic self! Did you know that her middle name was Rebecca? That info makes me feel even closer to her.
You need someone like DRPD in your administration!
As we consider those who have departed us, let’s hold in the Light all of those who have been affected by the loss of life from the flash flood in Nepal & Tibet. The video of it is horrifying! When I heard it was related to a glacial collapse, my mind immediately turned to climate change. Please acknowledge how humans’ consumption of fossil fuels is affecting the planet & is a phenomenon that needs to be addressed!!!
As you consider phenomena that need addressing, please contemplate the situation in Burma & what you might do to help.
BYBS,
