My Dear Friend & POTUS, DJT,

Do you like your doctor? Do you confide in them about your troubling sensations? The throb in your big toe, the spasm in your back, the heavy weight on your heart? I might have given you my pep talk about such things, but it bears repeating. When your brain receives those messages from your body, rather than say, “ouch - what’s the matter with me,” say, “yeah, I am having sensations which means I am SENSATIONAL. I am alive. I am grateful.”

SoW, do you have a particular ailment that the doctor wants to monitor? NPR’s story about your check-up noted your bruised hands & swollen ankles, which aren’t a big deal. One of their experts also talked about your heart.

As you know, being POTUS is probably the most demanding job there is, stressing out your cardia system. Since you are averse to changing your diet, you might instead change your morning ritual to include movement & contemplation. I have developed one that grounds me for the day & helps me deal with the craziness that comes my way. I’m going to share it with the two friends who are joining me on a retreat for the next couple of days. If they like it, I can guide you through it, one of these days.

OoM, did you see Pope Leo’s (PL14) encyclical where he talks about the need to “disarm” AI? So much of what he said resonated with me! Please read it & then invite him to the WH to discuss his observation that it could “give rise to new dependencies, exclusions, manipulations & inequalities.”

When  you meet with PL14, please have Chris Olah, co-founder of Anthropic, there, too. PL14 had him on the podium at his Vatican event yesterday & he was being quite forthcoming in admitting that his research team is worried. You need to know why he said, “I will be honest: we keep finding things that are mysterious, even unsettling.”

I know I am unsettled by AI, & I hope you are, too. I am particularly concerned about its use in warfare. When you talk to the doctor today, please ask him to keep a close eye on you to make sure you have the cognitive capacity to wrap your head around the possible dangers posed by the AI revolution.

In closing, I make the big ask that you reconsider your stance on immigrants. An article in today’s Irrawaddy about how Burmese workers have become a significant consumer sector in Thailand might help you see that immigrants enhance economies.

BYBS,
