My Dear Friend & POTUS, DJT,
Have you heard of Radical Hospitality? If not, I encourage you to look into it & then to begin practicing it! Doing so could get you out of the downward spiral many think you are in right now.
I fear your faith in the power of positive thinking is blinding you to the situation your administration is in right now, but, as your friend, I have to tell you to acknowledge the possibility that things could be unraveling.
If you don’t believe me, just take a look at today’s front pages. The NYT, LAT & WP won’t surprise you, but the NY Daily News might, with its giant headline, SLUSH FUND SPLITS GOP. Joking about having a third term, as you did at the Coast Guard graduation, is not helping your cause either.
Back to Radical Hospitality, I quaked telling a roomful of strangers about Friends’ use of this phrase. We had just viewed a fascinating documentary about Earthseed, a project of People’s Kitchen Collective, inspired by Octavia Butler’s work, where “radical hospitality” was used to characterize the ways that various groups were nourishing one another by growing their own food in environmentally sustainable ways. In a discussion of the movie, I shared how Friends use the term “radical hospitality” to advocate welcoming strangers with an open heart. I asked about how much the Earthseed Project had embraced Octavia Butler’s idea that God is Change” & was delighted to hear it was a driving force behind the effort.
You are great at hospitality, so now you need to offer it to everyone rather than just those who are nice to you. Take a risk to be generous with everyone & offer the message of abundance rather than scarcity.
As long as I am handing out advice today, I will offer the suggestion that you use the occasion of today’s EPA event to change its course. I’m afraid Lee Zeldin has gone way overboard in gutting it. Even the MAHA moms are upset with him for his approach to pesticides & forever chemicals. I encourage you to tell him to stand up to you, as needed, because his job is to advocate for the environment, not just to flatter you.
As usual, I remind you to keep an eye on Burma. MAH may be getting some help from Russia to build a Cyber City. Their building plans include a huge solar power installation to power their AI apparatus which they could use for nefarious purposes.
BYBS,
RCA
