My Dear Friend & POTUS, DJT,

I hereby appoint myself as your minister. I know you turn to Paula White for photo ops of spiritual leaders putting their hands on you, but your behavior suggests her prays aren’t contributing to your Letting Your God Shine Through (LYGST). 

LYGST is what we stressed with our daughter as she was growing up. You will notice that this mantra does not include a definition of what “God” might be. It just identifies an entity inside of us with positive energy that we can share with the world. 

As your newest minister, I feel led to tell you that your Epic Fury Operation (EPO) is casting a huge shadow all over the world. You are deluding yourself if you think you can “win” this one. It’s not like football, golf or soccer.

Many folks have pointed out the futility of war in various ways.

Neville Chamberlain put it this way, “In war, whichever side may call itself the victor, there are no winners, but all are losers.”

Eleanor Roosevelt’s spin on it was, “No one won the last war, & no one will win the next war.”

AI provides numerous examples of “the idea that war results in universal loss, regardless of the outcome.”

If you don’t believe me, ask Navy QB, Blake Horvath, today when he visits the WH to participate in the Commander in Chief Trophy presentation. His 3.67 GPA indicates he’s a smart kid & he seems to Let His God Shine Through on a consistent basis by having a positive attitude & acknowledging his mistakes. Even better he brings out the best in his teammates. I think he’d tell you that he & the other mid-shipmen at the Naval Academy would like EPO to end ASAP!

Another person who can tell you about the futility of war are the Burmese nursing students described in an article in the G today who are training in an underground health system by watching videos smuggled into makeshift jungle hospitals. One said, they are “students committed to compassion, democracy & professionalism…the living proof that education & hope cannot be extinguished by violence.”
