SoW, are you sure it’s wise to go there today? According to AI, whenever you go somewhere 3 - 5 planes are involved. AI also says, “prices (for jet fuel) have risen from approximately $85–$90 per barrel to $150–$200 per barrel in recent days, representing an increase of 75% to over 120%.” 

Not only will your trip cost me, & all of the other tax payers, more $$ than usual, it also draws attention to plane travel which is experiencing disruptions primarily due Department of Homeland Security (DHS)’s shut-down. At my airport, SMF, the TSA line takes 3 hours. While you don’t have to endure this, for Americans who do, seeing you jet setting around won’t sit well.

If you end up visiting Thermo Fisher Scientific today, ask to see their Multifuge X4R Pro Benchtop Centrifuges which can process up to 196 blood tubes at a time. Does your interest in their facility indicate a newfound fondness for science? Will you be reinstating the 5,844 NIH grants & 1,996 NSF grants that were cancelled or suspended last year? I hope so!

OoM, what do you plan to talk about when you deliver your remarks at 4:25 today? I hope you announce the end of Operation Epic Fury. Enough is enough. Get out now. WINTA!

With all that’s going on, please don’t forget the children of the world, especially those in Burma who continue to be deprived of sufficient food, health care & education.
