My Dear Friend & POTUS, DJT,

How was the National Prayer Breakfast (NPB)? I didn’t get a chance to see it this year. Did you do as the organizers suggested & “confess personal sin”?  We all make mistakes & do things we regret. It would be wonderful for you to set an example by acknowledging this.

I hope Rep Jonathan Jackson(JLJ) had a chance to share his faith. I assume he inherited some of his dad’s skills as a preacher, which I personally witnessed when he (the Rev Jesse Jackson) came to my high school & got us all to recite the poem, “I am somebody.” 

JLJ could use the NPB to admit it was a mistake to buy shares of Palantir stock when he has been so critical of ICE. FYI, Plantir produces AI  that identifies, tracks, & prioritizes individuals for deportation.

I’m not sure about the NPB, especially since folks like Paul Raushenbush(PBR) & the Interfaith Alliance have chosen to boycott it. I share their concern that Tony Perkins & the Family Research Council use it to promote their narrow version of Christianity. 

To better understand why PBR & other Baptists are wary of the NPB, please revisit the Thomas Jefferson 1802 letter written to the Danbury, Connecticut Baptist Convention in which he wrote about “building a wall of separation between Church & State.” 

OoM, was Melania happy about her visit with the Seigel’s yesterday? Did she tell you that they are recovering from their hostage experience by trying to spread hope? I was impressed that they visited the Kakuma refugee camp in Kenya where, Israel is providing access to clean water, hygiene, sanitation, & education to thousands that otherwise would not have any of those. I encourage you to consider doing something similar for the Rohingya refugees who fled from Burma to Cox Bazaar in Bangladesh.

In the interest of brevity I will not discuss your call with XJ yesterday or the mystery announcement you will be making today although I have questions & suggestions regarding both.
