My Dear Friend & POTUS, DJT,
I hope your visit to GA brings you joy today. I was surprised your people decided for you to visit the Coosa Steel Corporation. Aren’t they struggling with the elevated price of steel?
I am intrigued by the race to fill Marjorie’s seat. I’d love to see Shawn Harris win. The Chattanooga Times Free Press says he’s “campaigning on moderate policies like rural health care access, support for farmers, cracking down on price gouging, increasing rural infrastructure like roads & broadband connection & establishing generational jobs in NW GA.” As a Dem his chances are slim so I’d prefer Jenna Turnipseed to either Clay Fuller or Colton Moore.
It’s Japanese Internment Remembrance Day. When will you be making your proclamation to acknowledge this disturbing moment in US history? You weren’t born when FDR signed Executive Order 9066 authorizing the forced removal & incarceration of over 120,000 people of Japanese ancestry. About half of those prisoners were children so we still have survivors attesting to the trauma caused by their experience.
My Friend, Grant Noda, whose family was taken from their farm in Livingston, CA, recently passed. He amazed me with his cheerful spirit. He did not let the injustice that he had experienced poison his soul. That being said, he did not forget it either & his children remind us “Nidoto Nai Yoni, Let It Not Happen Again.”
When the survivors convene today they will be drawing parallels between their experience & what they see happening to immigrants now. Please listen to their concerns & don’t repeat your idea of bringing ICE to Atlanta.
OoM, the Irrawaddy ran a piece poking fun of Min Aung Hlaing for awarding himself a bunch of honors, calling this effort “self-aggrandizement” & “a quest for legitimacy.” Your haters might be saying something similar about you, so best to stop seeking accolades & keep your nose to the grindstone.
BYBS,
RCA
