My Dear Friend & POTUS, DJT,
Were your ears burning? Perhaps they always burn because so many people are talking about you around the world. I spoke about you on Friday to women I hadn't seen in 40 years. I told them how these letters help me to practice providing loving feedback to someone whose actions I find odious. It's getting harder & harder!
I’m especially troubled by the mixed messages you are giving about protestors. Please help me understand why you’re planning to come to the rescue of the youth on the streets in Iran, while you say it’s ok for ICE agents to kill resistors in MN? In both cases, unarmed individuals are expressing their opposition to their government in a public manner. I would hope that you would applaud their courage, or, at the very least, acknowledge their right to openly resist.
You run the risk of sounding as harsh as the Ayatollah who is threatening protestors with death penalty charges noting, “proceedings must be conducted without leniency, compassion or indulgence.” Without compassion???? Really?
Speaking of lack of compassion, that’s the vibe I get from some at the WH, specifically Steven Miller(SM). He suffers from a tortured soul. I speculate he was traumatized by public shaming from his teachers exposed him to when he contradicted them. When his peers observed his fraught relations with authority, they kept their distance from him, so he became a lonely, angry boy, an unfortunate scenario, all too common in classrooms. Were he to have therapy he might come to a deeper understanding of the power dynamics at play & forgive those who trespassed against him, rather than try to get revenge by doing things he knows will agitate them. He has an abundance of intelligence, but his social IQ needs work.
Since his advice is informed by a wounded ego, it is not to be trusted. Besides, he does not have the wisdom of folks like SW whose experience as a mother has helped her be less ego centric, I encourage you to seek advice elsewhere.
I believe MAH also has a tortured soul & is not to be trusted. I know for sure that the results of the election in Burma are not to be trusted. Please proceed with caution in your attempts to ameliorate the situation there.
