My Dear Friend & POTUS, DJT,  

Are you taking the day off? I doubt it, but your public schedule makes it seem so. It goes from Sept 15 to Sept 17, as if Sept 16 does not exist.   

I believe you are in transit right now, heading for London on AF1. If so, may your flight be smooth.   

I will be in transit shortly, navigating West Midlands Railway to get to London. If luck goes my way, I will get on the express train & get to my destination in under an hour. Fingers crossed.  

It looks like you have quite the packed schedule for your visit here. I’m sure the Royals will go all out to make you feel special at the Windsor Castle arrival ceremony. Laying a wreath at QE 2’s tomb will be poignant. Do you know happen to know if you will be expected to play a drum in the “Beating Retreat Musical Performance?” I ask because your schedule indicates that you & the First Lady (TFLOUS) will be “participating.” 

I can’t wait to see what TFLOUS will be wearing to the state dinner & what the Post-dinner Program might entail. 

It’s too bad you have to go straight back to DC after your meeting with the PM on Thursday. Next time, I encourage you to give yourself time to pop up to Northampton to visit Holdenby House where King Charles 1 (KC 1) was kept under house arrest before his beheading in 1649. The High Court declared him guilty of attempting to "uphold in himself an unlimited & tyrannical power to rule according to his will, & to overthrow the rights and liberties of the people.” You might want to learn more about KC 1’s travails so you can avoid them yourself. 

The existing house is just 1/8 of the palace that KC 1 inhabited, but even so, it is quite grand with a falconry in addition to the usual stables & gardens. You will be welcomed by the most gracious hosts who are excellent stewards for their national treasure.
