How’s Scotland? How did things go on the links today? Did you encounter any protestors or have the security folks managed to keep them at bay? It’s hard to tell what folks think of you there. I just found something on Unherd explaining how Michael Forbes refused to sell his property to you & attributes the death of his mother & wife to the pressures you put on their family. Clearly he’s not a fan, but I am curious about the rest of Scotland.
It’s unfortunate the Aberdeen branch of Trump International Golf Links has not lived up to its promise of thousands of jobs & a fancy hotel. Perhaps golfers prefer to play in sunny places rather than the wind swept, foggy coast. Are you sure you want to keep building golf courses? How about building some low income housing here in West Sac?
I hope you & John Swimney come up with some new ideas for getting Bibi to change his strategy regarding Gaza. Did you see the piece in the CSM that global attention on the hunger there is intensifying. The article includes the info that “the French news agency AFP, with just two Gazan journalists left reporting, stated that while they’ve lost employees covering conflicts since their founding in 1944, ‘none of us can ever remember seeing colleagues die of hunger.’ ”
The UN says that plans to airdrop aid are “inefficient and a distraction.” They argue “a manmade hunger can only be addressed by political will” which involves opening the gates & allowing aid in. Please continue to pressure Bibi to stop starving the Palestinians.
Speaking of pressuring people, do you have a plan for how you will influence Gen. Min Aung Hlaing (MAH) to stop bombing towns in Burma now that you have eased economic sanctions on his cronies? The latest Irrawaddy worries that by normalizing relations with MAH you “risk legitimizing a system built on torture, murder, & repression…abandon a nation in crisis (&) normalize the abnormal.” That does not sound good!
The Girvan Valley Church of Scotland has a service at 11:00 AM tomorrow. I encourage you to attend so you can reflect on Jesus’ message as shared in Matthew 5:44 to “love your enemies & pray for those who persecute you.” That might help you deal with the Epstein situation.
