My Dear Friend & POTUS, DJT,

Do you ever ask yourself philosophical questions such as, “Who do I belong to? What belongs to me? Where do I belong? When do I belong? How do I belong?” Of course, this line of questioning leads to “what does the word, “belong” mean?”

These questions come up as I read about the skirmish between the Thai & Cambodian armies near the Prasat Preah Vihear temple, which each country would like to call its own. The French created this mess when they placed the temple in Cambodian territory while drawing the boundary between the two countries. I like to think that the temple belongs to the world & it doesn’t really matter whether the laws of Cambodia or Thailand prevail there. Perhaps someday!

Do you think the tensions escalated when PM Paetongtarn Shinawatra criticized her own Thai military leadership on a call with Cambodian Senate President Hun Sen? Now that she’s been suspended by the judges of the Constitutional Court pending an investigation, her government is in limbo. Maybe, the military is getting active so they can take over.

Please do what you can to settle this! Southeast Asia does not need another conflict! We don’t want to see more photos of old women hiding in culverts to avoid being bombed, or images of refugees carrying their belongings to find a safe place to sleep.  We don’t need any more villages like Pauktaw in the Rahkine state which went from being a “bustling town” to a pile of rubble. WINTA!

Speaking of avoiding war, are you sure you want the Chinese to have access to the Nvidia H20 chip? Your guy, Rep John Moolenaar (MI-2), worries that the Chinese Communist Party will use them to train AI models that will power its military, censor its people, and undercut American innovation. Perhaps you should slow down & rethink this one.

BYBS,
