My Dear Friend & POTUS, DJT,
Will you be joining me in watching American tennis player Amanda Anisimova (AKVA) compete in the Wimbledon Finals today? I hope she beats Iga Świątek in less than an hour so I can get out to work with our landscape team on our weeding & pruning activities. Isn’t it great that AKVA has regained her concentration after taking time off to heal from the trauma of losing her dad? I suspect he was like my Russian grandpa who invested himself completely in his offspring’s success, constantly reminding AKVA to push herself. I will be cheering for her.
Thanks for going with Melania to Kerrville & sharing our sympathies with all affected by the terrible flood. I appreciated your expression of “love & support & anguish of our entire nation.” As you said, “all across the country, Americans' hearts are shattered…filled with grief and devastation.”
Like you, I can only imagine how heart wrenching it would be to lose a child under these circumstances, especially the youngest campers who had some apprehensions about spending extended time away from home for the first time. I’m sure many were comforted to know that Melania plans to return to continue to provide solace & a listening ear.
Don’t forget to talk about the economically disadvantaged people affected by the flood. They will need FEMA’s more than anyone else, while the wealthy Camp Mystic families will not.
Thanks for not casting blame on anyone or mentioning the name of POTUS 46. I worry that you went a bit overboard when eschewing speculation regarding the cause of the tragedy when you told Marissa Armas of CBS Texas that she was “evil” for asking what you had to say to TX families who were wondering about the alarm system. As you know, your critics are focusing on that aspect of the roundtable event with Gov. Greg Abbott. If you had stopped after saying, “Well, I think everyone did an incredible job under the circumstances. I guess, like Kristi said, a one in 500, one in a thousand years, & I just have admiration for the job that everybody did. It was just admiration,” then your critics wouldn’t have anything to complain about.
As usual, I ask that you don’t forget Burma. PBS reports that “at least 23 dead after airstrike on Buddhist monastery in Myanmar.” Since you are writing letters to Gen Min Aung Hlaing now, please write him a note telling him this is totally unacceptable & you will do everything you can to prevent him from getting aviation fuel. WINTA!!
BYBS,
