My Dear Friend & POTUS, DJT,

            What’s up with Palantir, Peter Thiel & Alex Karp? I just learned about them yesterday when a Friend mentioned he had been at a protest where his crew of folks from the Ragin’ Grannies, Planet Over Profit & Alliance of Californians for Community Empowerment shut down a recruitment event in Palo Alto.

            This morning the Asia Times has alerted me that Palantir’s CEO, Alex Karp (ACK) is the most dangerous man in America because he has “a conviction that democratic drag—messy deliberation, public resistance, moral caution—is something to be bypassed.” The tool he sells can piece together every morsel of data about a person so that we all feel we are being watched.

            Forbes calls ACK a “deviant” & quotes a former Palantir engineer as saying that Palantir is “building something that could absolutely be used for malice. It would have been a nightmare if J. Edgar Hoover had these capabilities in his crusade against Martin Luther King." The Forbes article concludes with the observation that "complete anonymity" may be a 20th-century luxury.

            Are you doing everything you can to protect my right to privacy? That would be the GOP thing to do. My grandma would tell you that small government is one of the Republicans’ fundamental principles & that includes staying out of people’s lives as much as possible. Please make sure that ACK knows that.

            I am especially concerned about the $30 million contract that ICE signed with Palantir in April to build a platform to track migrant movements in real time.

            The junta in Burma uses that kind of thing to persecute its critics. I don’t want that to happen here. Dissent fuels improvement & should be welcomed. Ideally it is delivered in a loving manner.
