My Dear Friend & POTUS, DJT,

            On this Memorial Day I will not, as I have done in years past, watch you lay a wreath at Arlington Cemetery,. I got enough of your presence in my life at 3AM when you appeared in a dream, in a bathing suit, tanning on a chaise lounge. I was attempting to help you understand why you needed to stop talking about how to seduce young women, but you weren’t listening. I was annoyed because you wouldn’t stop talking to hear what I had to say, then I woke up.

            SoW, David Brooks says that the key to connecting with people is to be a “loud listener,” by making affirmations while the person is talking. You are working so actively that you’re burning calories. You weren’t doing that in my dream, but maybe you do that in person.

            As we honor the fallen today, I am reminded of my relative, James C Ambrose, who died on 9/16/1944 at age 21, with 5 others in the bomber he was co-piloting 2.5 miles west of England. So many farmer boys died from his home in Hudson, IL that many women in their generation never married, including two of my great-aunts.

            Do you really think that VVP “has gone absolutely CRAZY?” I agree with your assessment that he shouldn’t be “needlessly killing” with his missiles & drones. Perhaps you can tell him to “Make Art, Not War.”

How about sending him the groovy poster designed by skateboarder/artist Shepard Fairey (SF)?  SF experiments with Phenomenology, which he says can help “people to see clearly something that is right before their eyes but obscured; things that are so taken for granted that they are muted by abstract observation.” I just started to follow SF today. Maybe you should, too.

            As we think of stopping war, what are your thoughts on Malaysian PM Anwar Ibrahim remarks about “quiet engagement” with the junta? He says, “the steps may be small & the bridge may be fragile but as they say, in matters of peace, even a fragile bridge is better than a widening gulf.” Please see what you can do to support ASEAN in coming up with a new plan at their meeting today.
