My Dear Friend & POTUS, DJT,

Malcom X (MX) would turn 100 today if he had survived. I like imagining a world where that could happen. Where the stress of fighting for the rights of Black & Brown people around the world would not affect his health & where the folks who found his message threatening would not have killed him.

Sadly, the world today looks more like the world of 1965 than it has in most of my life. Generational conflict abounds & is shifting centers of power in places like Bangladesh & Serbia. The young folk in Burma keep resisting the junta because they know MAL is old school & heading their country in a bad direction.

Your campaign tapped into the generation gap by appealing to young, disenfranchised males who are having a hard time navigating both the Black Lives Matter & the Me, Too movements & are looking for someone to blame for their difficulties.

We both know the true root of their angst comes from their fear of climate change, but you are trying to hide that eventuality by silencing the scientists. I encourage you to reconsider that approach. The truth always manages to creep out.

Which brings me back to MX. Please abide by the requests of his daughter, Ilyasah Shabazz (IS), & declassify her dad’s assassination files.

Since you love to surprise people, you might also repeat IS’s observation about the essential truth that her mom instilled in her, “if I learn to love me, I can learn to love you. But if I don’t love [myself], I can never love you.”

SoW, how are you doing in that department? As you work to forgive yourself for your transgressions & accept responsibility for the harm you have caused, please encourage those disenfranchised MAGA young men to do the same. You might want to invite Alok Vaid-Menon to the WH to help you with this. They are all about helping people deal with what they call gender grief, “a manifestation of the lifelong pressures to meet gendered norms that can, in those who don’t process their pain, result in feelings of anger and rage.” I fear you may be suffering from this to some extent, too. You could lead the world in being your authentic self, by embracing your feminine qualities.

MX transformed himself a couple of times over his lifetime. You could do the same.

We would welcome a kinder, gentler, DJT.

            BYBS,
