My Dear Friend & POTUS, DJT,
I got disrupted this morning. I was doing my best to wrap my head around your activities when I looked up & saw the corner of a rainbow emerging from Sutter Field curving toward the solitary 60-foot palm tree that towers above our neighbor’s house. Then it grew & as it did so, I moved around the apartment to get the best view. When it matured to a full arch, I grabbed the dog & my phone to chase the perfect photo. I ended up on a brisk walk through the neighborhood seeking the ideal vantage point & of course, as I did so the rainbow began to fade.
I could write for an hour regarding the many lessons I am contemplating because of that diversion, but alas, neither of us has time for that.
You are busy preparing for your trip to see MBS, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani & Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Be careful what you wish for with these monarchs. I’m not eager to have them investing their riches in our land.
I need to prepare for my teaching this week & to continue working on tying up loose ends related to my retirement.

It’s great that Edan Alexander is being released! Even better that Hamas says it's ready to “start intensive negotiations” for a long-term truce that includes ending the war, exchanging prisoners, & solving Gaza rule. Does this triumph indicate that you are distancing yourself from Bibi?
I’m relieved that you have dialed back on the tariffs to China & I’m curious about your efforts to roll back drug prices.
Since you are in reduction mode, how about reducing ICE activity? Our caregiver says they are asking for IDs at the local Costco. That’s intimidation. You & I both know that people don’t have to show documentation to be in a parking lot. Please tell your guys to back off.
SoW, tell MAL to stop bombing schools. News from Burma is the junta just killed 20 people, including at least 17 students.
Please keep repeating our mantra, WINTA, & if you see a rainbow, chase it.
