I find myself wondering what scientists would call the grey masses slowly floating overhead with patches of blue sky peeking through, maybe stratocumulous which according to NOAA “have dark tessellations (honeycomb appearance).”  

RE NOA - please get the government up & running so NOAA can take down the warning that “the website is not being updated.”  

SoW, please help me understand why you are spending time with Viktor Orban (VMO) today instead of making a deal to resolve the budget stalemate? I worry that you are stringing VMO along, giving him the impression that he might get an exemption of your Russian oil sanctions. I know that you are committed to stopping the war in Ukraine so there’s no way you’re going to back down on your stance that no one should be buying energy from VVP. 

In case you hadn’t heard, VMO’s days might be numbered. Not only is Hungary having a severe economic challenge, according to OSW, VMO faces a “reputational crisis” & “the waning appeal of its narrative, which remains focused on an ideological struggle against the ‘liberal West.’” A whipper snapper named, Péter Magyar (PM) has emerged as a genuine challenger & is going after the “ruling elite.”  

Please avoid a private conversation with VMO as he might charm you into making a deal you will regret. 

Speaking of deals, please help me understand how Uzbekistan can afford to invest $35 in the US? That’s 25% of their GNP. I doubt the Uzbecks want their hard-earned remittances being sent from Russia to the US.  Buy a couple of airplanes maybe ok, but they should be investing in their own growth rather than sending $$ our way. If I am misunderstanding your announcement about the deal you made with Shavkat Mirziyoyev, please set me straight. 

OoM, please continue to contemplate how you might work with the various parties in Burma to sort things out. The latest news indicates that India is repatriating 465 people who “fled” KKPark. Please call Modi to express your gratitude for that generosity as it must have been impossible to figure out which of the refugees were victims & which were cooperating with the scammers.
