My Dear Friend & POTUS, DJT,

It’s a rainy day here in Nor Cal. We embrace the precipitation, as we often don’t get enough of it, but it does foul up transportation. Today I have to decide whether to ride my bike to the train station or wimp out & drive to Vacaville.

Speaking of transportation, I’m disappointed that you are flying to Miami for a 160-minute gig. You’ll be in the air almost twice as long as you will be in FL. That’s bad for the planet & bad for your health. I encourage you to reconsider that kind of jaunt in the future. Next time the America Business Forum meets, you can Zoom in rather than fly in.

I saw your post about the results of yesterday’s election & had to read it several times to comprehend it. “‘TRUMP WASN’T ON THE BALLOT, AND SHUTDOWN, WERE THE TWO REASONS THAT REPUBLICANS LOST ELECTIONS TONIGHT,” It was easy for me to see that the shutdown was one of the reasons, but I couldn’t figure out what the other reason was. I always have trouble interpreting sentences written in the negative so that first part tripped me up.

I agree that the government shutdown lost the GOP votes but am not so sure that your name on the ballot would have made a difference.  According to the CSM this election was about the economy & folks out there are worried! Your crew is focused so much on riling people up that they have forgotten that Americans first priority is their pocketbook.

MAH needs to figure that out, too. According to the Irrawaddy, the Association for the Protection of Race and Religion, AKA Ma Ba Tha, is a Buddhist ultranationalist group  notorious for inciting communal tensions by organizing anti-Islam protests including boycotts of Muslim-owned businesses. It is a fringe group that has no real support among the public, yet MAH is putting forward several candidates from the Ma Ba Tha in the upcoming election. MAH needs to get the economy functioning again rather than continuing to fight his people. WINTA.

That strategy would work well for you, too. Rather than pressuring the Senate to eliminate the filibuster, tell them to compromise.

BYBS,

RCA
