                  Sorry to miss yesterday’s letter. I was in LA doing my thing. My stereotypes of what a 3rd grade teacher looks & acts like were blown away by a guy named, Angel, with tats, a baseball cap & swagger. His wife, Angelica, accompanied to the professional learning activity we sponsored. They make quite a pair & impressed me by sharing some nice mathematical explanations. I look forward to getting to know them better.

How did your meeting with PM Giorgia Meloni go? Did you talk about anything besides Ukraine & Gaza? Did Burma come up? LGBTQ rights? Did you sell her the 21 High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems on her wish list. Lockheed Martin will be fine without the additional profits.

                  Did you send a delegate to Alexei Navalny’s (AAN) funeral on Friday? Have you spoken with Yulia since your meeting in SF? I hope the huge turnout at Church of the Icon of the Mother of God Soothe My Sorrows brought her some comfort. Hearing the crowd chant, “You weren’t afraid, neither are we” & “Russia without Putin!” must have lifted her spirits.

VVP’s people are trying to discredit her & are blaming AAN’s death on the West, which just shows how intimidated VVP continues to be by the specter of freedom in Russia.

                  I continue to be mystified & fascinated by Russia, perhaps since my grandfather was born there & after fleeing by himself at age 16, could never go back. The 1917 revolution gives me hope that the oppressed people will rise up & VVP will be overturned someday. Change will come to Burma, China, North Korea & all the other places in the world where people feel disrespected. I prefer the Gandhian satyagraha approach to violent revolution with pitchforks.

These revolutions begin when people learn to think for themselves & have the courage to speak their truth. That can start in math class 
