My Dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,

            The Earthquake in Turkey & Syria sounds devastating. I wonder how this will affect Erdoğan (TE). According to the CSM he is “a thorny challenge for Washington & NATO…an ally who is inscrutable and unreliable ... yet also indispensable.” He’s going to need some help & I doubt VVP has the bandwidth to provide much assistance. Perhaps Sweden will come to the rescue & TE will agree to their joining NATO. Even though he is more like a dictator than a President, I hate to see his people suffer. Let’s help in any way we can.

            Congratulations on the nice press you got today about our economic success. Robert Reich writes that you have “revived democratic capitalism & changed the economic paradigm.” Jennifer Rubin believes you have “economic winds” at your back. I hope that continues.,

            Please don’t forget that people all over the world need to benefit from our prosperity & deserve to be free to pursue happiness. Do what you can to help the people of Turkey, Syria & Burma.
