My Dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,

It looks like it was old-home week at the WH yesterday. According to the G, BHO stopped by to “sprinkle some stardust” on your WH. It’s nice that you took a minute to celebrate 10 years of the Affordable Care Act. That has meant a lot to folks! I especially like the fact that insurance companies are not allowed to deny coverage due to a pre-existing condition. I have a few of those & I can imagine how upsetting it would be to not be able to buy insurance.

Do you think we’ll ever have single-payer health coverage in this country like they do in the rest of the civilized world? I think it would be nice if folks could be healed without talking about who is going to pay for their treatments. Maybe someday.

When you sign H.R. 3076, the “Postal Service Reform Act of 2022” this afternoon, it would be the perfect opportunity to declare that you are switching plans for replacing USPS’s fleet of trucks. You could say that now that oil prices are up, it is clear we need electric vehicles & you are going along with the EPA’s recommendation to rethink the $11.3 billion plan for new gas-powered trucks because they're only 0.4 mpg more fuel efficient than the current vehicles that date back to 1987.

What do you make of the flood of condolences & lavish funeral in Myanmar for Peng Jiasheng? It’s disturbing to me that the passing of a warlord who presided over a thriving narcotics and gambling empire in the Myanmar-China borderlands is being treated as a huge loss for the world. I am sure he had that of God in him, but his greed & quest for power got the best of him. While I am not a fan of cancel culture, I don’t think we should revere folks who profit off “conflict economies.” Nothing you can do about this, just wanted to heighten your awareness.

I chatted with my friend about land acknowledgements today. Does the WH have one? If not, you should look into it.

            BYBS,
