JRB,

Today’s little tune came from the dryer. I don’t use it often, but we’re in for an atmospheric river for the next few days, so I have resorted to emitting some CO2 for personal convenience. I avoid that as much as I can.

I encourage you to spend more time considering your carbon footprint & do more to cut back. Your administration’s “nature-based solutions” should be coupled with Dana Meadows’ logic of “limits to growth” to reorient everyone to a new equation for the future:

Limited population growth + Less consumption + Preservation of nature = Livable planet

I hope you are enjoying your vacation. I am having fun with my daughter. Yesterday we did a bit of thrifting & put together a puzzle. We are rearranging my compost pile to ensure that the whole thing gets saturated. Tonight, we are going to a King’s game. It’s nice to be free of work tasks for a few days.

When you get back to the office next week, please follow through on your promise to eliminate the death penalty. According to today’s G, your “prosecutors seek the death penalty for a truck driver from Uzbekistan who allegedly killed eight people in New York (in 2017).” While that guy did a terrible thing, the government does not have to reciprocate. You know that killing in the name of the state is a bad idea, so please live up to your principles & tell the justice department to stop seeking the death penalty under your watch.

Please give a shout out to the Burmese artists who have just opened an exhibit of their work in MN. Saw Kennedy, a Karen artist, who has settled in Peru, IN, curated the show. He aims to “showcase what it’s like going through war, & use art to show the love for our culture, or what our past used to look like in our home country & show what our American life looks like now.” Perhaps you could help him bring his show to DC. Showing the creative side of Burmese might ameliorate some of their trauma.

            BYBS,

            RCA
