My Dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,

It’s the 76th anniversary of the bombing of Nagasaki. Given the utter destruction caused on that time, I am wondering how it can be that we still have 13,130 nuclear warheads in the world today. Even worse, we keep designing new ones. Please heed Nagasaki Mayor Tomihisa Taue’s plea to make a nuclear free zone in Northeast Asia. While we’re at it, let’s pull our 50,000 troops out of Japan.

As long as you are entertaining my requests, please use the word, “genocide” when talking about the Myanmar government’s treatment of the Rohingya. According to Politico, there’s still some disagreement in the WH about whether that’s a good idea. According to my logic, if the Chinese government is engaging in genocide against the Uyghurs, then certainly the Rhingya experienced genocide in 2017. So it follows that you should explain to the world that among the many crimes of the Tatmadaw is genocide.

Killing people to solve problems has never worked. Not in 1945, not in 2017, not now, not ever. Please do all you can to end the occasion & means of war.

            BYBS,
